Our practice isn't just on the mat. It isn't in the form of just asana or a pose. Our practice is our life. Live it. Love it. #YearOfMindfulness ✨

Giving permission to heal ✨

It's an interesting thing to think about giving yourself permission to heal from your wounds. Speaking for myself--some wounds have been so deep there are times in my life I was no longer aware of how they permeated my everyday living. I have looked towards figures in my past at the feet of those who have broke me for healing and I'd be lying if I didn't say there are times I still do. .
.
.
I believe there are a few difficult things to do in healing:
1) Own your feelings. You and only you are accountable for your feelings. Using the words like --"you make me feel" takes away your power and your truth! .
.
2) Taking back your power. This often looks like giving yourself permission to feel. Attributing your feelings to yourself. To your experience. Taking the time to go deeper inside of your wound.
.
.
.
These two things can be a lot to think about. Anyone get pissed off reading those two things? Awesome! Look at that! Who have you given your power to? Who are you kneeling at the feet of to have permission to heal? You are not alone in this. This is lifelong work. Be kind to yourself in this process. Give yourself permission to heal. .
