Here's something new for you to try from @jo_conway_92 in her #SuperFlyHoney who says "my attempt at an easier version of @marioncrampe 's Flower Bud pose. I need to get much much bendier! " Thanks Joanne!
This video was taken while we still had a tree but it's only January and it's outside so feels festive still, I guess, right ?!? Anyhow, it's winter here. So we worked on this in group class last night without the leg movement and I am surprised at how challenging it can prove to some. Body consciousness is so important!!! And what I mean by that is the awareness of how we move and where we move from AND the consequences of when we move elsewhere in our bodies, what happens when I pull my arm back to my side and I'm only supported by 3 pegs on all "4's"?? Working asymmetrically often highlights our weakness as much as where we dominate from. Moving from this position is a higher intermediate movement I would say as shoulder stability needs to be anchored into the body already, otherwise it can go all wonky ! Remember to keep wide shoulders as well as a broad chest (without Rounding out the upper back) Push down to lift up. Keep the length of your waistline the same on both sides don't scrunch up the pulling side, I see this the most often Lift the abs around and in and that will keep you stable as you pull from the lats Once that's all grounded and anchored in, the leg is just an add-on for an extra balance challenge and brain coordination twister !! Be safe, center your focus on the inside, move from a strong core and shoulder hurdle, and have fun!
