The Angel and the Sword • The Civil Life Brewing • ESB • 4.6% • Missouri, US.
Pours a clear golden amber color, frothy cream head, great retention and sticky lacing.
Caramel malt aroma, toffee, hints of earthy, bitter dry hops, biscuits.
Taste is a mirror of the nose.
Medium body, mild carbonation, slight bitterness in the end.
Overall a phenomenal beer, the perfect balance of malts and hops, so easy to drink and refreshing. Definitely one of the best American ESBesq brews I have tried.
The name of the beer comes from a statue of an winged female Angel holding a sword to the sky at the Alcázar fortress in the city of Toledo, Spain.
This is @thecivillife loose interpretation of the style and it's amazing, job well done gentlemen. To quote head brewer Dylan Mosley: this beer sir is definitely worth its merit and I would like to have more! Salud!
