Any idea what these hair "symptoms" have in common?? ◇ Faded hair color. ◇ Dry, brittle hair. ◇ Broken or split ends. ◇ Frizzy hair. ◇ Weakened and thinning hair.
They are all signs of sun damage! Both UVA & UVB rays can damage hair from the cuticle to the inner structure of the hair. If you spend a lot of time having fun in the sun, consider wearing a hat to help reduce damage AND use Monat to protect & restore your hair! My battle has been #dryhair. I've been working to find a solution to prevent my hair from being SO dry on day 2, 3 and 4. I was really getting discouraged with the process because it seems like in order to have day one's curls I'd have to wash & restyle my hair frequently. It's heating up in LA and once the sun hits my hair it gets dry. So today I added extremely (heavily) oily products containing olive oil and coconut oil and I coiled/shingled my hair. Since it's dried my hair still has body. Today is day 1. Tomorrow (day 2) will tell the story if my plan is working. I'll keep you posted.
I cut my bangs today which led to a fun and insightful conversation with my youngest. I have thin hair, I have hypothyroidism and even with medication and close monitoring my hair has been thin, dry and brittle. I don't think it's such that others notice but I do. So bangs help hide that my scalp in the front, but when I was married to the boys Dad both he and his mother would make fun of me when I'd cut bangs. So even now, 5 years later it feels like a big deal to do my own thing at times. This being one of them. And my little guy asks out right, "why does it matter if people can see your scalp. Why do you care?" That kid! I didn't and don't have an answer. I was just what my vain ass considered a perk of super short bangs. Eh, I'm doing this for me.
