It's been my observation that there are many gifts such as the gift of prophecy and speaking in tongues that aren't handled or expressed Biblically today and we need to be careful to take in any teaching that doesn't align with God's Word.
It's seems that specifically with the gift of prophecy, that it is often only thought by some to be the foretelling of future events but it is also and more often than the previous - it is the proclamation of God's truth from His Word. Same with the gift of tongues...if it exists at all today, I've never seen it done Biblically. (See 1 Corinthians 14)
I'm sharing this as a warning and not as meaningless controversy by any means. It's becoming more and more prevalent to for people to see people say they are a "prophet" but, they very well may not be as the gift is more active today in proclamation (“forth-telling”), not prediction (“fore-telling”).
With this in mind, here is the The Threefold Test of a Prophet from Deuteronomy 18:20-22:

When I think of faith, I think not of what I see God already doing, but what He's going to do. When He swoops in outta the blue and delivers something that I've prayed for, literally left the request with Him and BOOM out of nowhere He comes in and delivers.
You don't have to know how He's going to do it, but just believe that He will. He may just be waiting on you to completely trust Him, in order to give you the desires of your heart. How much do you trust Him, fully or kinda sorta. Trust is something that you definitely don't want to straddle the fence with. I Peter 5:7 "Cast ALL of your cares on Him, for He cares for you"
Honesty post: Over the last six months to a year I have lost a certain sense of community in my own life. Whether it be friends that I no longer have a relationship with or a larger body of community that I have lost, this past six months has been very isolating and really lonely. During that same time, I decided to become a coach, having no idea that I would be included in such a beautiful community of women who love me really well. We have gotten to know each other virtually, and have checked in and seen each other daily through video and social media. Over this past weekend, these ladies and I were able to spend tons of quality time together, and it was such a huge blessing to me. I can genuinely say that some of them have become my very closest friends, and I truly believe that the Lord placed them in my path for a reason, in his perfect timing. I did not realize it until today as I’ve been processing on my drive home, but through the loss of certain community I had in my past, I gained a wonderful sister hood, and so much more. These ladies are my tribe and I am more than grateful for them in my life. This coach community is so loving, inspiring, and supportive, and I feel extremely honored to be a part of this team. We were not meant to do life alone, and I will be thanking God daily for the gift of sharing life with these women.
