Happy Lebanese Independence Day! We may have our struggles but every year on the 22nd of November we unite to celebrate our country’s independence from the French Mandate, which lasted 23 years.
Lebanese people really do know how to party, with bright fireworks that illuminate the night sky, the upbeat music followed by a dabkeh where we all join hands and dance in a circular motion and the amazing smell of traditional food that flows through the air.
Lebanon may be the smallest country in Asia but the Phoenicians have created a civilization that values culture, religion, ethnicity and most importantly the joys of life. -E
