The lurid colours of a sulphur lake in the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia, January 23rd 2017. This geological phenomenon lies 100 metres below sea level and is one of the hottest and most inhospitable places on Earth. Despite the gruelling conditions, Ethiopians continue a centuries-old industry of mining salt from the ground by hand. Temperatures here average 34.5 °C but can rise to over 50 °C. When the sun is the only filter needed! Knocked out 3 dozen of these wings for a friend's work luncheon.
Jumbo Chicken Wings marinated overnight, seasoned with the killer combination of @code3spices Rescue Rub and Backdraft. I smoked them on my @smokinbrothers grill with pecan and cherry pellets then finished with a glazing of Filley's Sweet-N-Heat Wing Sauce! Yum!
