one of my favorite things to do around here is to come to this place that our local people call "the dirt road". it's a road that our town decided to preserve and no cars are allowed in. it's perfect for a stroll with the kids. just a few minutes away from our house. it's so quiet you can hear the sounds of nature so clearly. as i walk by this farm, i'm reminded of my aunt's farm and her old wood stove. all my childhood memories flood my mind at this moment, i am taken to when i was just ten years old, and i used to play with my cousins and our corn cob dolls. the smoke coming out of my aunt's chimney quietly whispered lunch was almost ready. i remember it so vividly. my best memories are the most simple, feet on the dirt, running around my grandma's farm trying to catch her chickens, driving my mom mad because i wouldn't stay clean for even a few hours. how amazing it is to relive childhood all over again with my little ones. i'm so ready to create the best memories for them 😌

It's all about personal priorities, right? My life has been shaped around travel. When I got married, my husband had never been overseas. So for the first 6 years of our marriage, before we had kids, all our extra $$ went towards travel. We wanted to see as much as we could and we visited 13 countries in our vacation time (a couple summers were great because we were both teachers!) :) Sure, the retirement savings suffered, but we have memories and experiences that have shaped us forever. Now that we have two little girls it's fun to embrace our love of seeing new places with them too! Thanks @travel.quotes for the post

It’s never just one thing, it’s a zillion little things that add up to πŸ’―, in life + decorating. The zillion things in this corner are: the most beautiful green walls as backdrop, a lucite drape rod accented in brass, a simple Roman shade trimmed in Greek key (b/c mixing Romans and Greeks πŸ˜†), and gorgeous drapes hung high and wide in an iconic fabric. @courtneybsmith @scalamandre @lauriesoldmann @benjaminmoore

Happy Monday friends. So, Ive been going through some serious nesting and no joke its consuming every part of me lol. I remember starting my nesting craze while pregnant with Amar around the same time and it didn’t stop up until I gave birth. So yay to a couple more months of insane cleaning, re-organizing and some more cleaning.. Who can relate? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

As we head into this week of Thanksgiving, let’s all take a minute and remember why we’re grateful for the people in our lives.

Let’s call them and tell them what we think, without expectations. That it feels good to make other people feel good and very often we don’t say the things we mean to say to one another πŸ’‹
