After nearly two years, I went back to Zambia to visit my friends living in Lusaka. We drove up to South Luangwa, which I was dying to discover! I must say that I was not disappointed and very impressed by this national park.
South Luangwa national park is located around 600 Kms east of Lusaka, not too far from Malawi and Zimbabwe's borders. It is a true wildlife haven. It is also considered to be one of the best place to see leopards.
I did 5 drives altogether and saw loads of game. I truly love being in the middle of nowhere surrounded by wild animals. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go back to Africa anytime soon, but I cannot wait already to discover more national parks on this outstanding continent!
That picture of a leopard was taken on the very first drive which was absolutely epic (sightings of hyenas, lion pride with cubs, loads of birds, hippos, elephants and giraffes...), and this is one of my favourite shot taken overall. Not only I went to South Luangwa to spend some time in the bush but I was very looking forward to spotting leopards, which is one of my favourite animal! I saw one leopard on two different drives once it was dark though, but it didn't matter as it is a fascinating sighting anyway!
I also recently upgraded my camera to a DSLR (a Canon 700D) which i'm very happy with and still discovering the complex world of photography. More photos to follow... #zambia#tiz#africa#leopards#southluangwanationalpark#safari#wildlife#travel#nature#catsofinstagram#canon700d#animals#big5#cats
