09.12.17 | This is a throwback picture of me when I first met my parents! I was rescued during Hurricane Irma, and boy was I scared. If it wasn’t for them and their amazing friends, I would have been put down. I’m thankful that I’m alive
After nearly TWO YEARS in the shelter, CAPTAIN IS RESCUED!! He is living the good life in a foster home. We are beyond grateful to ChewsLife Rescue! Thank you to his biggest volunteer advocate, Jessica, and to all the people who shared and never gave up on this lovabull boy! Congrats Captain! #Repost#chewslifedogrescue
One of our board members met Captain at #northcentralshelter a few months ago. He was such a sweet, lovable boy. No one was giving him any interest and he was there for almost two years. We networked him many times and no one ever came for him. At the time we met him we had no space. On 3/3 it would have marked two years of his being at the shelter. We decided we couldn’t let that happen. Thanks to one of our trustworthy fosters stepping up we pulled him from the shelter today! Welcome to the beginning of the rest of your life, Captain. No more shelter life for you. Captain is extra special because he has the same name as one of the greatest dogs to ever live. Our other Captain passed away a while back and we and his parents think of him every day.We immediately took him for a check up at the vet after. He has a growth on his eye. We were told we need to get it removed and biopsied.
If you made a pledge or can help us cover these costs for Captain you can donate!

I agree as all four of our dogs, 2 past and 2 present, are rescues. #adopt#adoptdontshop#rescue#rescuedfromthestreets#rescuedog#rescued#rescueddog @Regranned from @hellhoundapparel - Yup, I'm an ASSHOLE for posting this. Yup, I'll lose a bunch of followers because of it. Yup, I don't give a fuck if you leave.
When my best friend of 30 years died I cried. When my grandmother died I cried only because I saw how deeply it hurt my mother. When my biological father died I told my then wife ok thanks for letting me know, not a tear. Those are the only instances I cried over another person.
Damn near every day I get a message or tagged about a dog that is going to die for no reason or was just killed and I cry every time.
I'm also man enough to admit that every time I rescue or transport a dog, I cry. They aren't tears of sorrow, they are tears of joy. It took me 47+ years to find this calling, and that's exactly what it is, a calling. I am pretty damn sure I'll spend the rest of my days saving as many as I can because nothing I've ever done had been as rewarding or soothing to my soul.
I use proceeds from this little venture in apparel and "other shit" to finance my wife and I being able to give our time, money, gas, vehicles to saving the puppies. I use this forum to spread the word of ADOPT DON'T SHOP - #regrann
