Remember there is no one in this world that is “fear free.” We all have that little voice in our head telling us to, “go home, don’t do this, sit down, shut your mouth,” and on and on. You can choose not to listen to that voice because that is your fear talking. You may feel afraid and that’s OK, but then need to choose to be brave.
"The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live only as you can." Your identity, what you want and what you value will continue to morph and grow throughout your life. Many 20-somethings believe they need to figure out now who they are for the rest of their lives. As if once you decide on a career, a partner, a way of life, it’s set in stone for the rest of your life.
No wonder so many of your peers look so confident, yet inside are experiencing “a quarter-life crisis” Like you, many 20-somethings feel stuck and can’t decide what to do while others are making bold changes to try to define meaning for themselves.
It’s been a few since I posted a swelfie. Don’t worry, I’m still here, working that 80 days. It’s just been a little crazy over here with a birthday, some tummy funk and then contractors in and out working on the oven debacle. So, needless to say, I’m here, working through it all and just wrapped day 30.
Begin to explore what work and career mean to you. The reality is that we are all living longer which means we are all going to be working for a long, long time. You don’t have to figure out what you are going to be doing 20 years from now. Just look at the next 2 or 3 years.
