My goal yesterday while flying to Spain was to make as little/no waste as possible. Since flying internationally I couldn’t bring any foods/drinks with me from home so I knew it would be hard. (I did bring my trusty @kleankanteen with me which a could fill up later.)But I’m happy to say I managed the entire day without contributing to any non recyclable or plastic waste. Except for a tiny piece of tape because this woman insisted to but my apple in a paper bag and taping it shut although I declined . Anyway, my day of traveling consisted of 2 flights (2 and 3 hours) and a 3 hour layover in Amsterdam which ment I had to eat sometime during the trip. I was very pleased to find @leonrestaurants a “healthy” fast-food chain (but they did serve meat and dairy.) They had one vegan items on the menu so that’s what I went for, “the super clean quinoa salad” or something it was called. The meal itself was very tasty and it was a good portion. The food came in a recyclable paper box and with compost able forks and knives which was a positive surprise. I’m also very pleased by the recycling stations at @schiphol
Oh and also reading about the @theoceancleanup and how you can donate your @flyingblue miles to help their mission to clean the oceans was really interesting! #airport#travel#vegan#recycle#compostable#airplane#airportfood#leonrestaurants#schipol#reusablewaterbottle#kleankanteen#ecofriendly#healthy#water#spain
