A photo captured at the coastline of Tanjung Tokong, in Penang Island. A combination of a beautiful sunset, together with the calming splashes of waves onto the shores and onto the shapely big boulders, complemented with a background of city lights, surely leaves me with a breathtaking view.
Did you know that turkeys and other birds swallow small bits of gravel that act as 'teeth' in the gizzard, breaking down hard food such as seeds and thus helping digestion? These stones are called gizzard stones (or gastroliths) and usually become round and smooth from the polishing action in the animal's stomach.
What do you do when chipmunks keep running past and you keep missing them? Put your camera on the ground and remote trigger a few shots. That's how I managed to catch this inquisitive little guy on Sulphur Mountain in Banff. I'm pretty sure this was shortly before he ran up to my camera and stood on the lens hood! (Quick PSA: I did not interact with him aside from putting my camera on the ground. The chipmunks at the top of the Banff Gondola are habituated to humans and will try to climb on you if you let them. Please don't touch them, and definitely do not feed them -- both of which we saw people do, despite us telling them firmly not to.)
