#nofilters This is my first shot of them above Gljúfrabúi Falls near Seljalandsfoss where I was camped and the green that appeared on the back of the camera after a 30 second exposure confirmed to me what I was looking at was indeed the aurora. But I was never that enamoured with the 'green' skies of the aurora really. Even under the northern lights last week in Iceland seeing them as a static feature with the naked eye (they look rather like off white clouds in the night sky) I was still uncertain, but what really turned me was the movement. As I walked around over a couple of hours shooting in various spots it was the wondrous real time swirling, waving, phasing in and out, spiraling, like being inside a 60s band cosmic light display - that will forever stay with me.
