In my soul throw back Thursday is not solely about pictures. In my heart it also takes me back to memories of individuals that have impacted my life and who I am today. This beautiful woman here was like a an older sister. She would take time out of her life to do my hair so that I wouldn’t look so nappy headed to go to school. She always showed me love even when she didn’t have the need to. She made my childhood a happy place every time I was by her side. I was blessed to have her and I want her to know that no time or distance will ever change the special place she holds in my heart ! We live in a world where appearance seems to mean more than the internal being. I sometimes feel the same way in the yoga world, the focus is more about the pose than the soul in the body. I’ve had a few weeks where my ego had stepped in & told me some stories about myself, slightly dimming my vision of that internal light. I’ve been through this in the past, it led to some real self loathing and no light.
What’s changed? The GLOW, practicing self love and care, taking responsibility for my life. I have noticed that I see the light in others, the soul sees the beauty within.
Your soul is the light, the amazing being within, it’s always there even if you can’t always see it. Just allow yourself to be, breathe and open your heart to the possibility of how amazing you are.
