Anaximander was the second of the Milesian philosophers. He disagreed with Thales, claiming that water cannot account for all that exists. Instead, he argued that the first principle is apeiron or the “limitless.” Basically, he believed that a boundless substance (apeiron) generates all that exists. This accounts for the opposites present in this world, so apieron not only creates everything, but destroys everything as well. #anaximander#philosophy#wise#apeiron#create
