We love rotating different non dairy alternatives over here and I LOVE making my own because they are free of the extra gums that are usually in store bought and it’s SOO good in coffee.
Tried & true recipe:
1C soaked almonds or cashews
4 C of water
1/4 C unsweetened coconut flakes
1 or 2 pitted dates
Touch of pink salt
Optional: add a touch of pure vanilla extract
Blend for about 1-2 minutes and then strain with a nut milk mesh bag (found milk on amazon)

Vacation started 3 days ago and I gave myself a pass on my healthy eating, using “vacation” as an excuse. I told myself that I’d take a break from making good choices and just really “enjoy” myself while on vacation by eating anything and everything I wanted. Funny thing is, half of the junk I’ve eaten in the last 3 days I haven’t even wanted or craved It’s just been there in front of me so I said “why not?” Well I’m here to tell you- bad idea! I chowed down on Doritos (which I haven’t had in years), S’mores (which I will admit were really good, but of course I didn’t stop at one), florescent pink taffy (yuck!), and a few other nasty things. Just not worth it. I feel like crap. Why is it we tell ourselves that just because we’re on vacation it’s ok to do things to our body that just make us feel awful? So, I’m not waiting until after vacation. Better choices start NOW. If I’m going to color outside the lines, it’s going to be worth it- like REALLY worth it! What bad choices do you rationalize? .
