My girl and I are yet again back on public transport!
This time it is just the bus over to her mum's.
Today I went into my girl's college for an assessment to see if I would be able to come in on a regular basis to work with my girl and to keep her safe.
We haven't been given a decision yet and my girl's stress level is at about a million atm but we don't think we will get an answer until Monday, so we just have to try to stay calm until then!
My girl was both pleased and not so pleased with me today.
My distraction skills could use a bit of work. Not like I pull or anything, but especially if I am walking close to new humans I might turn my head to them to get a bit of a sniff in! It's not so much a problem for my work as I easily bring my focus back to my girl but she is always worried about whether other people are scared of dogs and she doesn't want me to scare someone like that.
My girl was however very very pleased that just after we had gone into the college, we got the lift up to the floor she has classes on and as the doors opened there was another assistance dog who works with another girl with a physical disability in the college! My girl told me I was very very good about it! The other dog wanted to sniff at me and say hi but with some verbal encouragement from my girl I didn't even go towards the dog, I walked around her very nicely and kept my eye on her but didn't stop to say hi at all!
My girl was very proud of me for that especially because that dog did want to say hi to Me! Not pulling hard or anything but she took her focus off her handler and turned her whole body to watch me as I walked round the back of her! My girl was very very pleased with me for being so well behaved with the other working dog!
Hopefully we will hear back from my girl's college soon and I'll be able to go in with her daily
Late night practice run for Dog Yoga tomorrow morning!
