OSAYUWAMEN PEACE SALEH "Despite the pain, apathy and bigotry, Black Women stay, fight and still come out STRONG"
Igbo Kwenu ! Kwenu!! Kwezo Nu !!!.. Igbo kwenu is an interesting cultural thing for Igbo tribe, one of the largest tribes in Nigeria. Igbo stands for the whole people of the Igboland . And Kwenu means unity, solidarity and consent. People come in agreement together and earn their national honor and achievements. I completed this illustration and only to amazingly realize that it looks so much like the TV Personality and Co-host for Yourview TVC, 'OSAYUWAMEN PEACE SALEH'. "And with all due respect, this is my wholehearted gift from MMENDIE to You. You are a very powerful woman". Opening the petals of this collection is MRS. SALEH representing the Igbo Culture in a black and red glistening dress. The blouse is red in colour but has black splatters, glimmering stones and yellow Swarovski Crystals all over it. The skirt too is black in colour with red splatters along with shiny stones and yellow crystals. The skirt also possess a detail in form of red and yellow hems thus giving it a startling-star-turn look. An Aso-ebi, Omugo or any other Cultural Nigerian dress is not entire without a headwrap. The Igbos call it "Ichafu", the Yorubas call it "Gele" while my proud Akwabomites call it "Mboket". In the above fashion illustration, the headwrap is beatifully drawn and embellished with yellow, black and red designs.
