The admiration and love I have for this woman was intensified by 1000% after watching her yesterday. Her waters broke 2 weeks ago at 35 weeks, which was a little early. She managed to hold out to 37 weeks and bring Malakai into the world safely. Having our 2 year old twins via cesarean, the doctors gave us a number of stats and possible outcomes to "sway" us from natural to cesarean once again. Fono listened to her body, trusted her intuition and knew she could do this successfully. That included having no drugs, which allowed her to feel if anything didn't seem quite right. After 7 and a half hours in labour, we had Malakai Jonathan Reid to adore. He arrived at 3.5kg (I am scared to know what size he would be at 40 weeks) and 54cm long. Xavier and Zane are quite smitten with their new baby brother after meeting today. It will be interesting to see the chemistry once he comes home. @freidxz your are amazing and I love you so much. What you put yourself through, the boys and I are forever grateful. We cant wait to have you home tomorrow. #love#birth#newborn#happydad
After barely making it to the hospital in time for Brynna's birth, I couldn't shake the worry of how Cole's birth would play out, especially with 2 other little ones and a decent drive to the hospital. But God had it in control (as He always does) and it couldn't have played out more beautifully!
I'm (finally!) sharing Cole's birth story on the blog today, along with a few of his newborn pictures. The link is in my profile! #birthstory#karenallenphoto
According to this, baby will be a boy. But is this accurate?
Baby’s heart rate was 140 bpm at 16 weeks. I know those old wives tales are just that; but according to the heart rate tale, the gender could go either way. 140 bpm is basically right on the line.
What will baby be?!
We are so excited to find out at our ultrasound in May. #baby#genderprediction#expecting#pregnancy#baby3

This kimono makes me feel so free & beautiful and it’s so flattering on so many body shapes & sizes! Pic # 3 is how I wore it a couple weekends ago. I think I could also pair it w/ olive green underneath! #discovermaurices .
So baby boy #3 has made his debut - people that know me are now saying “ ok now you look pregnant “ #22weeks today! Funny fact about this pregnancy I’ve had a few unique cravings that I didn’t w the other 2. (AJs & Ethan’s pregnancies were so similar lol) shrimp & seafood were on the list again but for the first tri into the 2nd I could never finish a cup of coffee without feeling sick BUT frappuccinos were all the rage.also a crazy insane cereal obsession. Like Reese’s puffs, honeymaid smores, Oreos the cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch & chocolate & peanut butter Cheerios ♀️ ohhh and last one French fries, lots & lots of fries (and even better w cheese sauce !!! )
Anyone else have enough bridesmaid dresses that you could do a modified version of the 27 dresses movie?!?! Anyways that's beside the point! Lol
I was digging through my closet and taking inventory on different dresses, shorts, tanks... etc... seeing what I have that I'll be able to pack for my trip next month!
I came to the dresses smooshed in the back and was going down memory lane with them!
I pulled this one out and put it on, I told Ian I didn't think it looked too much different then when I actually wore it ♀️... He said.... ummmmmmm YEA it DOES! (he was trying to compliment and not get in trouble ) So of course I dug out a picture!
The one on the left was actually BEFORE any of the kids! (Actually I think I was like 8 weeks pregnant with Macy maybe...) I was in pretty "decent" shape for me!... He reminded me I was SO self conscious about it because I could barely get it zipped and you could see the indentation of my bottomless pit belly button! (I still have that belly button , it's a thing! Seriously you can fit like a pinky in it! ) Now when I it it on if it was strapless instead of a halter it would have actually fell to the ground!
My problems with my nutrition and being self conscious about my body didn't start when I had my kids... that just snowballed the problems that were already there!
I spent ALL of high school feeling "huge" because I was always "Big" compared to my friends... It took me until my 30's to actually find a place where I am really healthy and happy and feeling stronger!!! I'm getting more confident and it's SO freeing!!! So for some... they think there "best days" were the past.... I say OH NO GIRL!!! Time to let GO of those preconceived "body shaming" boxes that we used to put ourselves in and LOVE the amazing WOMEN we are now!!! *
