May You Grow Mondays
This is my current book, leading my way through personal growth.
Her sardonic, honest tone is delightful and makes me giggle.
"I don't care how big a loser you may or may not perceive yourself to be right now, the fact that you're literate, have the luxury of time to read this book and the money to buy it puts you way ahead of the game."
Thank you my cousin, Jason, for lending me his copy during a hard time for me.

#thisismodernfeminism post to start our Monday off right. @jessicaleighlyons inspires me in many ways - from her internal compass method, to really feeling our emotions, to dreaming big and not apologizing for what we have to offer. Oh - she's also an incredible communicator! Damn that girl can write authentically and powerfully.
Meet Jess Lyons.
I was born into a circle of woman, a gaggle of aunts. When I was 18 the Christmas prior to college, my mother asked my aunts each to speak to me about sex. Growing up Catholic, this was not a regular family topic. Each aunt pulled me aside in the quiet moments and shared their advice. It wasn't until I was in my early 20s that I learned not everyone had the gift of a circle of women lifting them up. But I don't see why it can't be so. I want to be creating circles of women lifting one another up, sharing their wisdom, their laughter, their wounds, through stories.
1) Female hero/mentor - I'm going to point to a biz bestie that was incredibly influential in getting my own business off the ground: Emilie Aries of Bossed Up bootcamp. After attending her bootcamp back in 2013, I started life coach training and here I am!! 2) Favorite quote : "Perhaps real wisdom lies in not seeking answers at all. Any answer we find will not be true for long. An answer is a place where we can fall asleep as life moves past us to its next question. After all these years I have begun to wonder if the secret of living well is not in having all the answers but in pursuing unanswerable questions in good company. - Rachel Naomi Remen
3) My Patroneous last year was a Heron. I literally saw herons in my front yard and they'd fly over me while I was driving on the highway. Herons, FYI, represent liminal spaces, because they could live in the air, the water, and the land. I was in the process of moving, rebuilding a life, and resetting my career here in Minnesota. 4) One goal/intention for 2018: I use a very specific program for coaching called the Internal Compass process and I have a library full of exercises and examples that just want to become a book, full of those exercises and stories. 2018, you're my year for book 1.
