Grocery deadlifts! This is what 'functional training' is all about. Training your body to move better, stronger, and carry out daily activites with ease. I get asked a lot, "What is the best exercise?" If I had to choose one that everyone should be doing no matter what goals they have, it's deadlifts, hands down.
Deadlifts work just about every muscle in the body, putting emphasis on the posterior chain and core.
They are the most taxing on the central nervous system, making them killer for strength gains and fat loss.
The deadlift motion is something we do all the time (and don't even know it!). Picking up grocery bags, boxes, baby car seat, a child, etc off the floor or grabbing a pot out of the bottom cupboard. These daily activities are where we become the most vulnerable to injury- reach too far with bad form and out goes the back. Why do we train? To be awesome badasses in life! Anddd to prevent injury, lose fat, and gain strength What's your favorite exercise?
