These are ball-handling skills, I've taught him, before. However, this time I was teaching, "precision over speed." Although both, precision and speed, are important developmental skills in basketball, the order in which they are developed, is crucial. I'm not a huge fan of using cones, but they come in handy in youth basketball....lol. The objective is to not hit the cones with the ball or your foot; controlling the ball and developing better footwork at the same time. The concept is, if you can control the ball, if you have precision, the speed with come.
