If you haven't checked out The Ordinary's products on the Deciem website recently, you may not realize that they've released a lot of new products (that aren't available on Beautylish). They just released a new selection of Retinoid options, some which are based in Squalane oil. They renamed their popular Advanced Retinoid 2%, which is now called Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. Honestly, I just tried this Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane, and I'm about to go wash it off. The smell is completely intolerable for me. I've never smelled skincare that smelled this bad and that didn't dissipate. Granted, Peter Thomas Roth makes some stinky fish based products, but the smell fades. This Retinoid doesn't, and it creates a greasy mess everywhere. I guess I'll stick to their original Retinoid Emulsion. They also have some new Vitamin C products. Just a warning that their Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone is horrible also, in my personal opinion. It is a mess of silicone that is impossible to spread out properly and it has a white thick film that sticks to your fingers. Ughh. Maybe it's time for The Ordinary to slow down a minute and re-evaluate their strategy of producing tons of new products that aren't market tested properly before released to the masses. #theordinary#deciem#skincare#beauty#boughtitmyself#beautyblog#nonsponsored#retinoid#retinol#instablogger#bblogger#bblog#theordinaryretinoid#theordinarygranactiveretinoid#newskincare#mybeautifulflaws
Plastic microbeads used to be a very popular physical exfoliant. However, studies have shown that plastic microbeads can have a detrimental effect on the environment. One concern is that because these plastic beads stick around, they can absorb other toxins and then fish end up eating these guys. Though there are motions to ban microbeads in rinse off products in the US already, the definition for "plastic" and "biodegradable" can be a bit vague at the moment, which does leave room for fudge factors. To do your part, you can avoid exfoliating ingredients that have polyethylene, polystyrene, or polymethyl methacrylate #cleansers#planetcare#scrubtroubles
