Someone was naughty and licking her incision today so she got the cone of shame. I then realized when doing her exercises tonight that she must have gotten a suture out because one is missing... naughty dog. At least the incision isn’t opened.
Nico had back surgery 15 months ago because he has intravertebral disc disease (IVDD). It’s a neurological disease that can cause the “jelly donuts” between the discs in the spinal cord to harden and explode causing temporary paralysis that can become permanent without surgical intervention. His occurred in the middle of his back so he lost control of his back legs; he regained function in them after surgery. The right picture is the position his back legs were in a moment ago as he waited for me to throw his ball. A great example of how his back legs now “have a mind of their own”. #fighter#nicothebeagle#beagle#ivddsurvivor#ivddsurvivorandthriver#beagle#dog#pupper#dogsofinstagram
