I’ve had a few people say to me recently ‘I don’t know how you stay motivated to stick to such a strict diet during prep?’...

I preach ‘balance’ (what ever that word really even means these days), to my clients.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
I genuinely believe it is possible to reach a fitness or physique based goal, while still enjoying foods that you actually ENJOY.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
I use an iifym approach with clients - and although I would highly recommend making up the majority of your food intake with healthy, nutrient dense whole foods - I also think it’s totally ok to work certain foods into your plan from time to time, if they ‘fit’ into your macro allowance.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
HOWEVER.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
At the end of the day, if you have a set goal in mind, you’re going to have to actually WORK towards that goal. Which means sometimes having to get a bit uncomfortable. Be it pushing yourself hard in the gym - or understanding that a physique based goal is going to be achieved quicker and more efficiently if you’re not eating pop tarts and ice cream on the regs.

Fat loss isn’t particularly easy, especially getting into stage condition, which is a very unnatural level of leanness, more so for women. So to get to where I personally want to be means giving up the flapjack and ice cream sandwich life for a while. I just understand it’s not forever and these foods aren’t gonna go anywhere. I’ve just got something I want to achieve first.

It’s so cringe and cliche to say, but it really does just come down to asking yourself how badly you want to achieve something. For me getting on stage knowing I’ve done everything in my power to be the best I can be is the most important thing. If I’m going to put myself through something as testing as a contest prep, I want to do it to the best of my ability.

Plus it’s totally fine when you’re a massive feeder and can make things for your besties like the above picture 😉😏 This was a reeses/chocolate peanut butter brownie I freestyled - using my usual vegan chocolate base - just with hella add ins... (So much milk based product 😅 - if I even tried to eat it my face would actually explode)... but I 👇🏼👇🏼
