One of the most unique and exciting things about Pinnacles N.P. is that it is the only national park unit to have a release site for captive bred California Condors. The park hosts 86 condors who have been brought from captive breeding facilities (such as San Diego zoo) and helps to reintroduce them successfully back into the wild. Through monitoring these endangered birds research has helped bring awareness to factors effecting they're mortality. If you're an animal lover like us your heart will sing seeing these magnificent GIANT birds take flight in the wild. We talk more about spotting the California Condors as well as our favorite hikes in the park on our blog ( link in bio). What's an animal you have seen or would love to see in the wild?
