Fakahatchee Strand 5 - With mysterious names of plants like Guzmania and Ghost Orchid, I was easily enticed into exploring the Fakahatchee Strand. Studded with native Royal Palms and many tropical plants found only in Central America, the Fakahatchee is truly a remarkable place!

It's hard to explain the contrast or similarity of yesterday and today. Both days I was at work. Yesterday, I didn't think I would be attending the Women's March because of my schedule, however, I did. Yesterday, I asked my coworkers to wear white, green, or purple (the colors of suffragettes) to show solidarity during a day we all had difficulty getting through. In a way, doing so was our own little Women's March and I loved every second of it. We worked but kept floating by televisions with Donald Trump's inauguration on the news. It couldn't be escaped. I can't speak for my work sisters but I can explain how I felt. I was frustrated, tired, angsty, and could feel a fire burning in my chest. I didn't want to sit around, I didn't feel I was in the right place in that moment. Today, I was. Despite working all day, I found the time to hightail all the way to Boston to catch the end of the city's march. I'm so glad I did because it was absolutely beautiful! So many people were there for so many different causes but with the same amount of passion. "Get over it" is for the lazy or satisfied. I am neither because there is work to do. Welcome to Day One, Mr. President - we won't be invisible, we won't be denied. I doubt you will work harder for what's right than the American citizens you serve. (It says "Feminist.") #WomensMarch #RiseUp #LateNightThoughts #Feminist
