This premium coffee has its origin in a small farm on the Eastern slopes of Mt. Kenya that was started by their grandfather in the year 1954 which makes him among the first coffee farmers in Nyeri and Kenya.
It has been named 5199 after the tallest peak of Mt.Kenya ;Batian which stands at 5199 m. Above sea level.
Produced from the SL, 28, SL 34 and Ruiru 11 varieties, @5199coffee is shade-grown on deep volcanic soils at an altitude of 1700-1800 Metres above sea level . It is handpicked,hand -sorted, wet-processed , Bed-dried, dry-milled and meticulously roasted to give its rich winey flavour and a fruity aroma.
