Suspended as we were, with no horizon line or landscape or anything else to draw a separation between the water and the sky, I pictured us up there with the stars. Another story written in tiny lights. We were a constellation put in the sky-- two people holding hands, floating peacefully above everything else, in a beautiful, perfect moment. // Jessi Kirby, In Honor
So I was going to be productive today, make cookies or do chocolates, wrap presents, etc and instead did basically nothing. I am making chocolate covered pretzels now though.
Christmas is just sneaking up real fast now and I'm just like I'M NOT PREPARED. Tbh I probably am I just don't feel it
What did you guys get up to today?
#allthebooksdec: fave new author of 2017, I went with a new to me author as opposed to an actual new author of the year, I read In Honor by Jessi Kirby and loved it, I was actually considering getting rid of it but I'm glad I didn't
I’m really REALLY enjoying Replica so far. It seems unique and original. I also love how it’s split in two, which is quite different than anything I’ve ever read before. I honestly can’t believe it’s taken so long for me to pick it up. Ahhh hopefully I can get some time to read tonight, but I have an essay due tomorrow -Book Hugger
“There was a hunger inside me, and there always had been. That hunger was stronger than pain, stronger than horror. It gnawed even after everything else inside me had given up. It was not hope; it did not soar; it slithered, clawed, and dragged, and it would not let me stop.
And when I finally named it, I found it was something very simple: the desire to live.” - Carve the Mark
QOTD: Latest 5 star read?
Happy Tuesday, friends! Less than two weeks till Christmas and I have barely started my Christmas shopping kinda starting to stress...but my husband is so hard to buy for!! He’s a golfer, but wayyy too particular for me to consider buying him a new club. Idk. I have a few ideas, but yeah...it’s a struggle. so this was one of my most anticipated 2017 releases, and while it wasn’t one of my favorite 2017 reads, I did still enjoy it! The first 100 or so pages of world building were a little challenging, but I feel like that’s a common struggle with sci-fi. Once I figured out what was going on and who people were, the story got really interesting! And I adore Akos he’s a very Four type character! Also, I know this quote is from TOG, but if you’ve read CtM you’ll know that it really applies to this story too! Thanks @inspirediink for another gorgeous bookmark!

My manager at work for made redundant yesterday and we were told about it today so I'm feeling a little sad and down. This isn't the first time someone has been let go without us being told until the very last moment which is pretty shit.
So I'm making an effory to focus on good things right now. Number one on my list being there I have tickets to see Kesha next year!!!
What's one of the best things to happen to you this year?
HELP I'm almost done The City of Brass AND Vicious and Idk how to deal with it (the answer is immediately pick up another book lol).
I'm sorry that my captions are so short lately and that I haven't been replying to comments either it's just busy rn with work and I work mostly evenings so I sleep like most of the morning ♀️.
I looooove when there are quotes or passages at the beginning of novels because I love trying to figure out how/if they relate to the book. Also they just feel like, extra personal touches from the author because here's someone else's words that inspired their words you know ?.
"Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness."
QOTP: do you own any bookish candles?
I don't sadly (the shipping to Croatia is just nuts) but I LOVE scented candles over everything
