'I have tried...to make my book an analysis of modern beauty, a collection of the loveliest ladies I have ever seen... the latest varieties of Venus as well as the counterparts of former belles.' •
BADA 2017 is only three weeks away! From 15–21 March, the fair will welcome over 90 specialist exhibitors from across the UK, offering the general public, collectors, curators, art professionals and interior designers the chance to view and purchase outstanding pieces of traditional, modern and contemporary art, design and antiques.
A highlight of this year's fair is this very special copy of Cecil Beaton's first book, 'The Book of Beauty', published in 1930. The front free endpaper features a warm inscription from Beaton to fellow aesthete Sacheverell Sitwell, whose sister Edith is one of the women described and photographed within.
