Shop for a cause! 5% of today's sales are being #donated to Boston Area Gleaners, a local #NPO dedicated to rescuing surplus crops for those in need. Also, if you're in store between 5-7pm, be sure to swing by their table to learn all about the incredible they do in and around our #community!
Israel has begun to cut the amount of power it supplies to the Gaza Strip, fulfilling the request of the West Bank based Palestinian Authority.
People in the #GazaStrip will now have roughly 2 to 3 hours of #electricity a day, the effect on necessary services such as #hospitals and #schools will be extremely detrimental.

Sanga is a farmer. He has three children. They are one of the poorest families residing in the village [Thingdol]. His oldest daughter Salomi was very bright when she was young. She was enrolled in a decent school earlier but he couldn’t afford to pay her fees. Since the rate of ginger fell, he didn’t earn much. She failed in a few subjects in her mid-term exams last year. We asked her why. She didn’t answer “I couldn’t buy her books last year. So, she just managed with her notes. I don’t think I can buy them this year too,” he said. Joshua and Mangtrathi were on the verge of dropping out of school this year owing to financial constraints.

A big thank you to John Scheffey, One House at a Time, & all of the @core_states_group volunteers for helping to make our 2nd Bed Giveaway a success!
On Friday night, June 17th Club members from our Wissahickon Club as well as our Abbortsford PHA Site gathered at our Wissahickon Club for a fun-filled sleepover! Some highlights of the night included making Play-Doh from scratch, watching the movie Shark Tales, a treasure hunt, and freeze dance. Three of our staff members even dressed up as mimes to entertain out youth. Alshon Jeffery, wide receiver for the @philadelphiaeagles , surprised our members by stopping by to play with the kids and helping them make Play-Doh! Throughout the event our Youth were treated to Pizza and cookies, and breakfast in the morning. Saturday morning Core States volunteers delivered the beds and accessories to each of the 25 children’s homes. Thanks again to Core States & Alshon Jeffery for providing the children with a night they will never forget! Thank you to @nbcphiladelphia & @telemundo62 for highlighting our event on the 11 o’clock news as well as the Saturday morning news.
Last trip we were able to donate a lot of surfboards to the locals. Gangs are a huge problem in El Salvador but we've noticed that getting kids into surf has helped prevent them from getting into gangs. That's one reason we focus so heavily on surf culture. Help us nurture relationships with the surf industry and culture by donating. Thank you!
Sharing a meal around a table with strangers creates community. This woman has created a supportive and loving community for young mothers who may not have that anywhere else in their lives. I loved hearing more about the people and the mission behind Grace's Table. @aroundgracestable thank you for sharing! •••••••••••••••••••••••• #ComeToTheTableGT
