Optical illusion! Does it look like I am I doing Warrior 1 on the ceiling or the floor? Hehe What about Baddha Konasana? Inverted or right side up? Sometimes a simple change in perspective can flip everything upside down! Have a fliptastic day!!
life hack: learn how to say sorry.
we all make mistakes,
and pride is a helluva drug.
stubbornness is a fickle bitch.
humility is a difficult poison to swallow.
but admitting to mistakes is freeing.
being forgiven is humbling.
and saying sorry,
admitting to the flaws
to the mistakes.
owning up and bowing down,
makes you stronger
in the long run.
and we have many more miles to go. #youaremysunshineyoga
What do you do when things don’t go your way? Do you get frustrated and give up or do you look for a new route, change your perception, try a new way?
After training for 4 months with a goal to get faster and beat my time, my #ITBand injury is causing me to do the exact opposite, stopping me in my tracks from pain, EVERY time I try to go fast. I had 20 miles on the plan this past week. Past mile 16, I had to stop to stretch each mile. Stopping really does not work in a race. Not with a time goal .
Runners dilemma. Sometimes we get injured along the way. Sometimes all is good the entire training but come race day it is bad weather, cramps, or injury at race. No doubt running is hard on the body. There can be a lot of pain. With failure though, also comes learning. Always.
With all that learning we grow as people along the way. And even injuries teach us something. This time it is teaching me #amorfati. To love my fate. To change my perspective and to embrace my injury and see what I can accomplish/learn not despite but because of it.
I will still be running #CIM and see where it takes me. I am stretching and doing rehab exercises and understanding that it is time for #taper, both physically and emotionally.
I am so ready to enjoy my favorite @caglaruacan@ruacanb ’s arrival for the holidays. So ready to take it a notch down with them. So much so that I️ still have done nothing for the big day ♀️♀️
Happy Thanksgiving friends #liveauthentic#nolukewarm#perspective@gethomeeats
I know it's not quite Thanksgiving yet, but I think recognizing what you are thankful for EVERY day is such a good habit. Doing that has changed my perspective from one of lack to one of abundance. Say it out loud in the morning, write it down, or just think about it. When we have Brooklynn with us, we all say what we're grateful for at dinner time. So what are you thankful for? I'd love to hear!
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality.
Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
We must stop comparing ourselves to others. Comparison is a form of suffering. Instead of comparing yourself to another, acknowledge your our own process. ♂️
Notice that most pain or adversity that we experience in life makes us a little stronger, a little wiser, and more compassionate. We don’t need to welcome adversity in our life. We don’t need to look for it. ♂️
But it grants us perspective by teaching us about the “big stuff” vs. the “small stuff”. ♂️♀️
Understand that life is an experiment, and we must find out what works best for us. There is no best. There is only the best for each of us at any given time of our life. ♂️♀️
Where is your journey taking you?
We often focus more on what we perceive to be bad in life, which leads us to lose appreciation for all the good. No matter what you are going through...there is always something to feel appreciative for. Find your something, no matter how big or small, and channel your energy there #appreciatethegood#gratitude#changeyourperspective#changeyouroutlook
If you like photography and haven't been tagged to participate in the 7 day black and white challenge...just do it! I enjoyed looking for something different that could/should make a cool b&w picture. No comments, no people, just use your imagination. Here are my 7.
