In September 2016 i was planning volunteering activities for Hilton Gatwicks Global Week of Service. I looked up on google homeless shelters close to Gatwick and found Crawley Open House so i contacted them and arranged to do some volunteering.
Four of us went from the hotel after work to prepare, cook and serve dinner to the homeless. We all came away feeling very humbled.
Since then I have arranged several more groups to volunteer, the hotel has done a food drive, we are on our third month of donating clothes, our Hilton chefs have gone to cook a Hilton breakfast and there are more plans to come to help this great charity.
Tonight myself and Luisa were invited to the Crawley Open House's first charity dinner where we enjoyed a delicious meal. There was a silent auction, a raffle and an auction where Hilton Gatwick donated a nights stay with dinner and breakfast and I am pleased to say it went for a couple of hundred pounds!
I am so proud of how I initially started things off and now Luisa has taken over and hopefully we will continue a great long relationship between the open house and the hotel. #charity#helpingpeople#feelsgoodtohelp#proud
