2014 #JeanClaudeRamonet#ChassagneMontrachet#lesrouchottes#premiercru#fantasticwine#dry#whitewine this wine has an enchanting structure. It's subtle in in its fruit component featuring nectarines and pears with subtle spice oak characters rounding out the mid palate and providing balance and texture that leads to a refreshing clean finish. #chardonnay#cotedubeaune#burgundy#france#winegeek#winetatsting#lenckdrankchardonnay#lenckdrankwhiteburgundy
This Domaine is regarded in some circles as the best producer from Chassagne-Montrachet. It was establish by Pierre Ramonet in the late 1920s and in 1934 he bought his first parcel of premier Cru land "Les Rouchottes". He continued on a quest to buy premium land. Today the 17 ha that make up Ramonet is being run by his grandsons Noel and Jean Claude.
Located in the southern part of the Cote du Beaune, the village of Chassagne-Montrachet includes 3 Grand Cru sites and 19 Premier Crus and along with its neighbouring village Puligny-Montrachet produce arguably the best white wines in Burgundy and the world. Although Chassagne-Montrachet produces almost the same amount of Red Wine (Pinot Noir) as white wine (Chardonnay), it is the whites that are of particularly high quality and have formed the basis of its high reputation.the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet covers an area of 2.5 square miles and almost half of this area is designated to Premier Cru vineyard sites.
