Ok so today's video was supposed to be of my backbend but it's disappeared so I'm just gonna show you an old photo of a bridge so you can see that my back flexibility used to be terrible (it's still rubbish)
I am no gym junkie When I was younger I certainly was, or if I wasn't in the gym I was out pounding the pavement.
With health and family being two of my highest priorities in life, I still love to exercise everyday, but as a busy working mum, it's not as easy as it used to be to make enough time in my day to get to the gym, and still be present with my kids.
What I know though, is that it’s finding something you love, and doing it every day will get you results. For me, I love my 5am workouts before the rest of the family get up. But now that it's school holidays, I will not be getting up at 5am!! The weather has been stunning here in Perth recently, so I’m now using the opportunity to be with my kids and have fun at the same time. When we go to the pool, I'll do some laps while they are in their lessons. We get out most nights after dinner for some family time, kids on scooters or bikes, and I'll run or walk with them (or ride the scooter home with my daughter when she is too tired ). Long walks on the beach (with a few sprints thrown in)... Here’s a few simple ideas that might help you to move more too: Just Start.. like now.. do 25 squats or lunges while your scrolling social media. Do that four times a day and you've done 100! Run around with your kids more (they love it, it’ll tire them out too )
Turn off the TV. Find a You Tube clip and try that from the comfort of your home or even on a work break.. 15 minutes is better than nothing Dance, like no one is watching. Turn on the tunes and go for it
Don’t just exercise to lose weight. Do it to have fun, gain confidence and increase your energy
The best thing to do is: start!! Create healthy habits you love so much you won't want to stop. Whats something simple you like to do to move?
