This morning we got to hang with my daddy-o in the original Lakes Region Restorations shop attached to my childhood home. For the past 36 years my dad has restored antique and classic wooden speedboats, and has built several stunning one-offs under his very own "Gryphon" make. He's the consummate badass maker and craftsman, and a daily inspiration to us.
This here is a restored 1919 William Hand originally owned by my maternal great grandfather and the boat I grew up in; screaming with delight as we sped across the waves of Winnipesaukee, and rocked to sleep countless times by the roar and rumble of its engine. It is currently owned by a family friend who has decided to sell, but Scottie and I have put it into the universe that someday it will be ours. Here's to dreams. Having them, and living them. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
