Nouvel exercice appris par Malko (Beagle de 2 ans) en quelques minutes.
Exercice qui pourra être approfondi lors de prochaines séances de medical training, par exemple, avec le maintien de la position sur le dos.
I love it when clients send me updates of their progress. #Repost@hallietherescue with @get_repost
Sound up! Who else does free shaping? When we met with our new trainer @the_dog_brigade , Dom suggested that we try free shaping. We’ve practiced with all sorts of items around the house and in various spots and Hallie’s proved how smart she is and picked it up really quickly!
I’m no expert at all, I definitely still get it wrong sometimes - occasionally I forget to click or miss time the treats but we’re both really enjoying practicing and learning this new skill!
Today we used this cushion. The first video, I wanted her to touch the cushion with her nose and hold it for a short time to get a click and a treat (we’d already gone from looking, to touching with nose, so touching with nose and holding was the next progression). She gets no instruction from me, she has to figure it out herself. Once I knew she had that, I upped my criteria and she soon figured out that she needed to place her head on the cushion to get a click and a treat! All of this was done within about 10 minutes. She got it wrong a couple of times but on the whole she nailed it
We’re both loving free shaping! The brain power used by Hallie means she’s exhausted after it’s great for relationship building for us and building Hallie’s confidence. It’ll also help us with our practice out in “real life”.
Week 8 is Drop! A fairly simple trick that can be a bit of a pain to teach. Flame kept going into bow as I was trying to demonstrate how to teach drop. Thanks to Scott I have a much easier way to teach bow now! Drop is a simple trick you can reinforce by asking for it before you put their food bowl down to really get the repetition going. I usually ask Flame for a high five myself. #purpleflameytricks#dogtraining#dogtricks#purpleflamey#droptrick#canineconnect#clickertraining
