On this particular day, our trip out to see the whales was unfortunately cancelled due to large swells and unpredictable weather, it sucked, but gave me the opportunity to see the island at a different perspective, by 4WD!
The morning started off with a scenic ride along the coast, then we went off road to a very steep and very slippery dirt track up the mountain. I gripped the side of my seat fearing we were going to tip off the edge, talk about an adrenaline rush!
The view from the top of the mountain was incredible but quickly disappeared behind an army of angry, dark clouds which shortly followed by a downpour of rain, and yes I got absolutely soaked
As the tour came to end we stopped off at a pineapple plantation where we were educated on how pineapples are grown (I had no idea they developed from a flower!), got to taste some homemade jams and admired some local artwork. Getting to see the cultural side of this place was something I’m glad I took part in, even if the weather tested my patience haha
