When I was a kid, hanging out with cows and horses was just so normal. I didn't know then that this wasnt how everybody lived. I thought every elementary school kid was in 4H. I thought my friends having goats in their yard was ordinary. I thought weekend trips to the rodeo in the summer were actually kinda boring. I didnt practice much when my parents got me a lasso. It was kinda cool, but my gameboy was better. .
And then I moved away, and I traveled, and I learned how other people grew up, by the beach or in the city.. And then I came back to Colorado. And it was so fresh. The view of Mt Sneffels, (which I now have tattooed) and Chimney Peak and Courthouse Rock.. it's all so surreal. I am from here. I grew up here. And I know that no matter where I go, that I can always come back to this wonderful little spot on the Western Slope. And I am so grateful that my parents moved us out here when I was just a baby. Im so happy my dad has an awesome ranch with horses and cows, and that I know how to fix cowboy boots and take a saddle apart. I have an awesome family. No matter how cool I try to be, the feeling of slippin into my cowboy boots and kickin up some dirt at the Ridgway Rodeo will never get old.
Well you guys, it’s time. Kora and I are starting a new adventure and moving to Colorado in April. Leaving my friends and family behind will be one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do...but I can’t wait to find out what CO will bring us. Here’s to our new beginning ||
