NEW PODCAST!! This episode is the amazing, @digital_star! On top of having the coolest name and a great laugh, he's also got a GREAT story. From being in the massively popular boy band MN8 in the 90's to bringing several Star Wars characters to life, there's no surprise that Dee is the guest on the longest episode I've recorded yet. Such a fantastic talk with such a interesting person. Link in my bio!
Just when I thought I was going to @monsterpaloozaofficial sans-costumes, they were brought back from the secret warehouse where they were stored next to the Arc of the Covenant. Look out, here I come!
#DroidMaintenance day in the shop.
Since 2001, I’ve been designing, art-directing, building, finishing, maintaining, repairing, AND acting in costumes & props used in television series, commercials & live events. Like Dad always said, “Do what you’re good at and you’ll love going to work everyday.”
As I sit here, waiting to do one of my favorite things (getting made up into a monster for a movie!) I can't help but think of the recent Oscars:
Gary Oldman, a now Oscar winning actor and true chameleon when it comes to the varying roles he has done over the years, winning Best Actor for his starring role in "Darkest Hour" as Winston Churchill. Doug Jones, the otherworldly creature performer extraordinaire portraying the aquatic creature in "The Shape of Water", winning Best Picture.
These men show to me how fun the world of acting is. Utilizing your craft as well as donning (sometimes lots!) of classic practical makeup effects. They inspire me to stay perpetually creative.
This is a job. This is a living! Actors do what they love and live off of it.
To everyone who has ever said "It's not Halloween", even more of us say "Eat it!" :D
Dee Tails on cover of "Filming In Croatia" for The Last Jedi, some words from Dee about this shot. "Actress/Stunt woman Clare Lawrence and I 'Brother Letrun Pay' chat away while they line up the shot. Unable to see anything out of this particular head I was guided by her and had Olly Taylor in my ear. Also in this pic you can see the beautiful blue eye's he has."
