Hiya Face Freaks! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We just got back from our first trip out together in two weeks. Even though it was just grocery shopping, it was wonderful!
Today's #amroutine is from several weeks ago and started with #damesanddimes' gorgeous, bright yellow Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm. You have to remove it with a very warm, damp washcloth, which I adore, but you have to be prepared for that or you'll only have moisturized your face! After that, I skipped #acidtoner, which is so infrequent! But as I said in my last post where I'd used Josh Rosebrook's Hydrating Accelerator, it completely pissed off my face. Weeping eyes, redness like I never experience, and even patches of very tender skin, I could do nothing else but try to make friends with my face this particular morning. So instead of acid toner, I used my most soothing hydrating toner: #kiehls' Calendula Toner, with #deciem's #niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum (#cais). Then I used three drips of my favorite mixture of NIOD's MMHC2 and #Hylamide's SubQ Anti-Age. I swapped over to my eyes and used #lashserum (don't buy this one, it has done nothing for me!), NIOD's Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate on my left eye and Hylamide's SubQ Eyes on my right, and #origins' A Perfect World for Eyes over everything. Then back on my face, I applied three tiny teensy drops of #theordinaryskincare's Niacinamide and zinc, and #euk134. I skipped #survival0 because it stings like crazy when my skin is inflamed or compromised (like with #retina Tretinoin 0.025% use). Proving just how angry my skin was that morning, I also used two moisturizing elements: #truebotanicals' Renew Pure Radiance Oil (probably my most favorite oil blend. It's dry. It smells like lilies, and I just think it's splendid. Someday I would love to be able to afford the price tag, but they do offer samples so you can be sure it's love before you commit! And secondly, #bayberrynaturals' Rosehip and Hibiscus moisturizer, which I still love; it is light yet a little fluffy, soft, and oh so relieving feeling spread across your face.
Hiya Face Freaks! Today more packers come for two days of work to put the rest of our household into crates to be stored while we live overseas. Things start to feel surreal and the house you've been accustomed to starts to empty. It's a bizarre feeling.
Today's #amroutine is from several weeks ago. I started with sublime #damesanddimes' Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm, which must be removed with a warm, wet washcloth. It has a wonderful smell--like dark chocolate, not cloying, and the orange notes are really soft and lovely too. Plus it does its job well and doubles as a terrific occlusive agent if you're looking for something legit to treat dry patches with instead of cleansing.
Next I used #nipandfab's Extreme Glycolic Night pads for my #acidtoner. I cut them in half a few at a time, because I'm a cheapskate, and because they're well saturated with fluid: a half pad is plenty to do my face. After acid toning, I sprayed liberally with #artnaturals' Soleil Mineral water #hydratingmist. Guys. Seriously. If you're in the US, this is a HUGE can, the finest spray I've used, and so, so affordable!!! It's a major win. After spritzing, I applied #deciem's #niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum and rubbed it in everywhere. Then my half half combo of pre-mixed NIOD MMHC2 and #Hylamide's SubQ Anti-Age went on in three satisfying drips and also met the same fate. I switched over to my eyes and used NIOD's Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate on my left eye and Hylamide's SubQ Eyes on my right. (I think I have one more drip of FECC to use this morning and then I will feel satisfied that my job is done testing them side by side the last three months!) I also used #lashserum. I went back and checked my notes last night from my routines and I'm not satisfied with my progress from #organycbeauty's lash serum. I'll have to do a write up because there are a lot of dates involved from when I switched over from using #randf's #lashboost to this. I'd love to trial it against the next lash serum I started using on one eye...I digress. Too much information!
Merry Christmas, Face Freaks!
Christmas cookies and some things I love, was desperate to try, didn't get on with, and...did I mention love?!
I pray you have a day that isn't ordinary. I pray you make time to relax and breathe. I pray you give yourself a compliment for something you and only you can do. I pray you give of yourself and open yourself to others who need you. I pray you open your eyes to the blinding beauty of the earth and the souls in it. For me, I'm asking God for revelation to see Him in everything I do and wait for Him to move me. And I always look towards a renewed sensation of that fragile baby, his scent, how real he was, and the radical and completely and utterly abandoned love he chose in his life as he grew. So thankful for this year of growth and newness in this skincare community, and always thankful to God for sending such an amazing example of His love.
Merry Christmas, all you Freaks. #larocheposay #damesanddimes #deciem #avalonorganics #biologiquerecherche #hylamide #joshrosebrook #truebotanicals #niod #misshakorea #neutrogena #clinique
Can you see my tiny little olive wood creche, Face Freaks? We bought it in former East Germany several years ago on a wonderful Christmas away spent with dear friends.
Today's #amroutine is from several weeks ago and started with the ever beautiful #damesanddimes' Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm. I can smell it as I type. It's beautiful, Freaks. If you live in England, seriously consider grabbing one online today for someone's stocking stuffer or present. I'll bet with wonderful UK mail, you'd likely have it for Christmas. (I promise they do not pay me to say this. It's just soooooooooooo good.) After properly removing the balm with a very warm, wet washcloth, I used my standard and solid #acidtoner of #nipandfab's: the Extreme Glycolic Night pads version is stinking good and such a fab price. Then I spritzed with #origins' Ginzing #hydratingtoner, and applied #deciem's #niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum on top of the moisture for optimum spread and the least waste. After I rubbed it in, I dripped three drops of my favorite mixture of half half NIOD MMHC2 and #Hylamide's SubQ Anti-Age. I allowed that to soak in and swapped over to my eyes: #lashserum on top and bottom, NIOD's FECC on my left eye and Hylamide's SubQ Eyes on my right (about two more weeks of trial on this) and #drunkelephant's Shaba #eyeserum, which is gosh- darned lovely. Last things on my face were #theordinaryskincare's Niacinamide and zinc and antioxidant extraordinaire EUK134.
We said goodbye to our friends who came to visit today, and now my attentions need to turn towards wrapping the kids' presents and making sure I haven't forgotten anything silly for Christmas. I hope you all are managing to cope with the Season in a healthy way, and that you can take time to breathe in and be at peace twice a day, (minimum!) during your skincare routines. You are cared for.
Hiya all you Face Freaks! Yesterday was full and stressful, but also had sublime moments of rest and recuperation with my beloveds. Today I am flying. I'll tell you why tomorrow.
Today's #pmroutine is the next from a few weeks ago. I started with #damesanddimes' Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm, which is a luxurious feeling and smelling experience. I only single cleansed because I hadn't gone out (sunscreen) or put on any makeup that day. Next I used #deciem's #theordinaryskincare Glycolic #acidtoner 7%, with #kiehls' Calendula #hydratingtoner on top. Then I applied #niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum on top. For me, using CAIS on an acidic surface like this has worked fine. (Deciem says that it should only be used on a neutral pH (7) and this is about a 4. After CAIS, I used my half half mixture of NIOD's MMHC2 and Hylamide's SubQ Anti-Age, which both have multiple hyaluronic acid weights to help plump the skin. Then I swapped over to my eyes: #lashserum, NIOD's FECC on my left eye and Hylamide's SubQ Eyes on my right (experiment keeps on going!) and #purlisse Blue Lotus 4 in 1 Eye Adore Serum. I finished up my face with #hylamide's C25 ethylated vitamin C booster, and The Ordinary's Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid 3 % mixed on my face, with #bayberrynaturals' Rosehip and Hibiscus moisturizer to top everything off.
I hope you have a Sunday that stirs your hearts and speaks life into your soul. You are loved, Freaks.
My belly and heart are full from Thanksgiving festivities yesterday, Face Freaks.
Today's still life from several weeks ago shows the fifth night of prescription retinol use in a row. To begin the #pmroutine I double cleansed with #thebodyshop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter and #damesanddimes' Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm. Both of these are no exceptions, must be removed in the @carolinehirons' method with a warm damp washcloth. Then I used P50W 1970 #acidtoner by #biologiquerecherche. I spritzed with wonderful smelling rosewater #hydratingmist, and immediately applied three thin stripes of #deciem's #niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum (I'm sure excited for those of you who bought CAIS2 at launch! I myself have a big bottle of CAIS to go through first. But I'm looking forward to the new version being happier to play with acids!) and rubbed them gently in all over, including eyes. Then I used three drips of NIOD's MMHC2 and #Hylamide's SubQ Anti-Age, which I pre-mixed. (Second rabbit trail: show of hands for how many of you scored something(s?!) fun from Deciem's #blackfridaysale?! I maxed out my five purchase limit. And I am so grateful and thankful to Deciem for keeping things fun and accessible. I just love their brand!) Soooooooooooo, back to the routine ...after my concoction, I started my eye treatments: #lashserum, NIOD's FECC on my left eye and Hylamide's SubQ Eyes on my right, and #firstaidbeauty's 5 in 1 #eyecream (a little dry, but not unpleasant, and softly rose-scented). I slapped some Tretinoin 0.025% on my face, then used #misshakorea's Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule as a last step for moisture. Can I say how impressed I've been with Deciem's Hand Chemistry? It's a bright fragrance, but most importantly, it is the best moisturizer I've ever used. It's lusciously creamy in a thick way. My hands have never had such a good season change. If you weren't aware, Deciem put it on two of their Black Friday packages. Highly recommend!!!
Well Hellooooo there, Face Freaks! I have a very full looking and citrusy smelling #pmroutine still-life for you today.
First I started with the small British company #damesanddimes' Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm, and then I did a second cleanse with #avalonorganics' Intense Defense Cleansing Milk. I wedged a little #biologiquerecherche P50W 1970 #acidtoner in between with #origins' #ginzing#hydratingmist following suit. Next I applied #deciem's #niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum on top of a still damp face, and rubbed it in everywhere. Then I dripped three drops of my half half mixture of NIOD's MMHC2 and #Hylamide's SubQ Anti-Age, again, rubbed in everywhere.
I started flip flopping #eyetreatments and face treatments hereafter...#lashserum, NIOD's FECC on my left eye and Hylamide's SubQ Eyes on my right, then applied Retin-A to my face, then used #clinique's Repairwear Laser Focus #eyecream, then NIOD's Survival0 and #misshakorea's Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule. Lastly I used Dr Esho's Drench (link to review in bio) and The Chemistry Brand's Hand Chemistry #handcream.
Happy Friday, Freaks! I want you all to know you're special and important and valuable. Really.
Have a fantastic day!
