Welcome to C’8 – Coordinate, the purely altruistic disaster aid coordination software app that will be free and available to all that I’ve been working on since hurricane Sandy in 2012 and I think will be a game-changer.
The need is extraordinary in the disaster response, volunteerism, charitable aid and donations world for a tool that’s efficient, effective, transparent, free and available to all including disaster victims and communities.
In addition to coordinating needs and recovery efforts, C’8 will also facilitate direct, specific, immediate, zero overhead, 100% transparent (as they all should be) aid donations, provide a platform to report suspected abuses, and much more in a game-changing, force-multiplying way.
C’8 will be an open source tool of, by, and for the people and as such, we need and invite your support and participation in its creation and implementation. Thank you!! We invite code writers to donate open source code to the working demo version as well as the finished product. We will soon open a crowdfunding campaign to begin to accept donations which will be used to proportionately compensate all that contributed to the code writing.
We also invite everyone to send us your own videos of #withC8, what would you do, or how would you be or have been more empowered to deal with disaster recovery? Thanks again!
A magnitude 6.4 earthquake just struck eastern #Taiwan, near the city of #Hualien, where the Jing Si Abode, Tzu Chi’s global headquarters, is based. A number of buildings in the city collapsed, including a historic hotel, while dramatic shaking was felt in many parts of the country. The earthquake activity began 48 hours ago, from February 4 to 5, a total of 71 earthquakes were recorded off the coast of Hualien. The quake today was the strongest so far. The nuns and residents at the Jing Si Abode have already set up a #DisasterRelief command center, and are preparing hot tea that will shortly be distributed in safe areas, as rescue efforts are underway. Let’s pray for the safety of everyone in the affected areas, as aftershocks continue. Please #JoinHands with #TzuChiRelief to offer #DisasterAid after tragedy strikes around the world. tzuchi.us/donate/TaiwanQuake
Hear from Ruth Muller, whose daughter and mother are currently living in #Mexico. Ruth works at a Tzu Chi Clinic in California, and was moved to tears upon learning that her family received #TzuChiRelief at our most recent #DisasterAid distribution for those impacted by the #MexicoEarthquake. We are sincerely touched and grateful to be able to make a difference for all those who are struggling - please, #JoinHands with us so that we may be able to provide our support wherever there are those in need. tzuchi.us/donate/JoinHands #LoveSaves
“My wife smiled for the first time in 3 days.”
This is why we do what we do. During a disaster sometimes all you need is a gesture of human goodwill - whether that’s someone lending a hand or a stranger over the internet sending money .
Sempo is a platform that gets cash directly into the hands of individuals affected by disasters, globally .
It’s a chilly morning in the #Coyoacán district of #MexicoCity, as the 450 families who will receive our #MexicoEarthquake#DisasterAid are arriving at the Iglesia del Patrocinio de San José, where today’s distribution and #MedicalOutreach is taking place. On such a cold day, it’s hard to imagine that these families, with children and the elderly, have been living in tents since the earthquake last September, enduring prolonged hardship. Please #JoinHands with #TzuChiRelief, so that together, we can bring relief to people in tough situations such as this. Let’s always be at the ready to help those suffering after disasters, letting them know that they truly are not alone because we care: tzuchi.us/donate/JoinHands. #HumanitarianAid#RipplesofLove#LoveSaves
