#KnowledgeisPower In our final country spotlight post in our mini-series on NEXTGen France's cause, Enfants et Conflits, we take you inside a health center in #Nigeria Remember, all funds raised in #Paris go directly to these children Inside a large UNICEF tent, women with their #babies and young children wait to see a #nurse and health workers at a #health clinic set up in the Bakassi Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Maiduguri, Borno State in north-eastern Nigeria. During one week from September to October 2016, over 40,000 women and children like these benefitted from integrated primary health care services, including ~13,000 children under five years of age. During the same period, #children also received various vaccine during routine #immunization in UNICEF-supported IDP camp health clinics. Health clinics also screen children for #malnutrition in these camps - affected populations in north-eastern Nigeria remain in #emergency acute food insecurity due to large gaps in basic food needs and high levels of acute malnutrition. Recently my 11 year old daughter told me she wanted to make inspirational bracelets like I do. So we set about looking for some fun beads and letters that she could make her bracelets with. Bella came up with all the words and styles and I helped her to string the beads. These are not available on my website (yet) but these awesome girl power bracelets are available at my Etsy store - www.etsy.com/personalherogifts (link in bio)
One of the first girls to receive one of Bella's bracelets was Ryan. Her mom Molly Stapleman from @lucky_fin_project was a recent Personal Hero feature. Both Molly and Ryan are such heroes! In this pic Ryan is rocking her new bracelet. We hope it reminds her and every other girl that wears it that they are perfectly and uniquely beautiful the beautiful Ryan rocking our Be-You-Tiful bracelet. #beinspired#etsysellersofinstagram
