Stuffing Kongs with peanut butter, string cheese, and treats is a messy job, but the dogs LOVE it. Once frozen, they're a cold fun treat that also serves as a form of kennel enrichment. We don't want the dogs to be bored in their runs, so we are always looking for ways to provide them mental stimulation. Working to get frozen treats out of the Kong toys is a mind puzzle for them. Enrichment helps to keep the dogs relaxed while they wait for their new homes, and also reduces kennel stress. We try to do this for the dogs 3-5 times a week, so we go through a lot of peanut butter, string cheese, and small training treats that fit inside the Kongs. We would greatly appreciate any donation of these items so that we can continue to provide these fun treats for the dogs. We will be at the PetSmart on Marsha Sharp this Saturday 10am-4pm if you'd like to drop off any donations then, or we'll be at our kennels Sunday 9am-noon. You can also order through our Amazon wishlist and it'll ship directly to our kennels. The link is in our bio above. Thank you! The dogs will be very appreciative. #adoptdontshop#shelterdogs#shelterdogsrock#lbk#lubbock#lubbocktx#lubbocklife#lubbocklocal#lubbocktexas#lubbockintheloop#lubbockorleaveit#rescuedog#redraiders#ttu#texastechuniversity#texastech#pitbulladvocate#pittie#kongtoys#kennelenrichment#donate

Huey is such a sweet pup! He knows the commands 'sit' 'down' 'shake' and has taught himself 'belly rubs'! Huey loves walks, so much to where he can sometimes pull on the leash. After awhile he will calm down and walk by your side. Huey is often overlooked at the shelter because of his 'odd walk'. Just like humans, every dog is different! Huey needs a rescuer. If you have the spare time and love, please co consider Huey .

Greetings OMIs!I've taken a few weeks to regroup from seemingly endless bronchitis, a busted rib, and a vacation. I hope you all have been doing well, keeping cool, and living kindly.
If you're in Arizona, you know how obscenely hot it has been and most of us are fortunate to have a roof over our heads and air conditioning in our homes. For the next initiative, I need your help! I really want to support people living on the streets. On July 23rd, our goal is to distribute water in BPA-free reusable water bottles to people in need. We would also like to offer a some fresh fruit with the reusable water bottle. If you have any fruit trees ready for picking, please consider donating some to us so we can give to the men and women living on the streets.
I have a PayPal account set up for receiving donations for this CO-MISSION. If you are looking to link up synergistically with like-minded people taking care of the community one step at a time, please consider supporting this initiative. We are going to order inexpensive but sturdy wholesale water bottles so that we can give away as many as we can! We are also looking for donations of larger reusable water jugs to fill the bottles upon distribution.
A person simply cannot survive without water and in these temperatures, it's impossible. But with your help, we can gift people with water, a healthy snack, smiles, and hope! If you know of any stores willing to donate the mentioned items, please let me know. Please share this initiative or consider asking your colleagues, friends, and family to donate as well. A few dollars will go far for those in need. Thank you endlessly for your consideration and your support! One. Many. Donation link: paypal.me/theominitiative
