In early February, parents from our United Parents for Educational Justice (UPEJ) program met with District 4 @BoardMemberMelvoin to discuss working together to improve the LCAP Community Engagement Process. Parents urged the Board Member to seriously consider community input and incorporate it into the district’s $8 billion budget. Our parent leaders also gathered 360 signed petitions from parents in District 2 and a signed letter of support from @speakupparents all in support of UPEJ’s request to move the LCAP Public Comment prior to the release of school budgets in mid-March. #parentadvocacy #PartnershipLA #Impact #Advocacy #CommunityVoice #EquityofVoice #CommunityEngagement #collaboration #collectiveaction #LAUnified #UPEJ #UnitedParents #EducationalJustice #ParentLeaders #Support

"Mr. I'M POSSIBLE" in the office of his fellow comrade @polo1million- as echoes from Nina Simone's, anthem, "To be Young, Gifted & Black" and Malcolm X's quote, "By any means necessary" touch the core of his Spirit and mission- as he continues the fight for Educational and Social Justice.

January 18th • 6:30 PM PST *HOW TO ATTEND*: 1) RSVP to lgreenele@bard.edu; 2) Click https://zoom.is/j/6185987012
Bard MAT information webinars are efficient, half-hour conversations led by Bard MAT administrators and faculty and covers: A) The challenges and opportunities for public education in the city of Los Angeles. B) The philosophy, structure, and logistics of Bard's two-year master's degree and credentialing program. C) Participant questions.
