It’s snowing here in MPLS, but my memories from this weekend are keeping me warm. Dreaming of this amazing Ahi Tuna with Forbidden Black Rice that I had for our Valentine’s Date night on Saturday. My food freedom includes grains and dairy from time to time. I usually get a tad fatigued and little bit achy in my joints when I eat gluten and dairy, so I always evaluate the situation when I have the option to eat those foods. The goat cheese on the smoked salmon bruschetta sat well with me and was percent worth it. It’s definitely a treat as I eat mostly Paleo day to day to feel my best, but sometimes life calls for those “worth it” foods and I always answer my calls. So lucky to have this cutie in my life.
My name is Brendan & I’ve lost 300 pounds over 6 years. I hit rock bottom 2011, weighing in at a devastating 505lbs, 25 Years old, I didn’t know anything about exercise, dieting, nutrition, and cooking. My doctor told me I wasn’t going to see 30 years old that my obesity would take my life. I had to make one of the hardest decision in my life either take my life back or just live life and take what comes at me. I chose to live and Never Give Up no matter how hard it was I wasn’t going to give up on myself. My weight caused many struggles like, fitting in cars, clothes shopping, finding seats to support my weight, even walking was a struggle my shoes would literally collapsed under my weight. The first year I started eating breakfast every day, stoped drinking soda, alcohol, juice and started walking 5 days a week working up to 1km. I new my next step was to take it the kitchen, I was focused on learning about nutrition and healthy cooking. I began starting to count calories, began to meal prep and keep healthy food on hand to help snacking. I focused on a 6 to 8 meal plan a day constantly keeping my metabolism burning. After I got my kitchen under control I wanted to expand my fitness knowledge that’s where I found my MMA coach @theacademy2013.8 Bill Fraser who worked with me for@the last 5 years. I started to see my success and accomplishing the goals I hard set out. The beginning of 2017 I turned my focus to weight training at @fitnessexcellence where I continued my journey and lost the remaining 100 lbs. My original goal for 2017 was to lose 50lbs, however I kept pushing my self to surpass that girl and I achieved that. I’m here to tell you we all got to start somewhere and today is your day!!!
