There are plenty of moments when it feels trivial to me to be distracted by enchanting scenery - when our schools and our streets are becoming less and less the safe havens they once seemed to be to many.
And then I try to remember that we each have a ripple effect in our communities, our environments, and on this planet that we’re responsible for taking care of.
My hope is that by being true to what lights me up, what I care about preserving, that I somehow end up teaching our girls to embrace an inner bravery enough to accept and love and test themselves. Because their own ripple effects are increasingly becoming part of this big picture, even at ages 3 and 7. And these kids are inheriting this world. So what are we as adults standing up for, right now? What are we handing over to our children?

"Dude, you ok?"
"Yeah... Just trying to figure out train A leaves a station and travels north at 30km/h and train B leaves the station 10 minutes later heading south at 55km/h... What the heck is a train? And a station?"
