Maison E. Guigal is a wine production and trading company born in 1946 and based in Ampuis, a small ancient village and cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, as well as the Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin or the Domaine de Bonserine. The house was created by Étienne Guigal, who began by vinifying 67 harvests at Côte-Rôtie from vineyards located on Côte-Blonde and Côte-Brune. The estate was later passed on in 1961 to Marcel Guigal. His work and his perseverance enabled the Guigal establishments to purchase the entire Vidal-Fleury company in 1984, which nevertheless retains its own identity and commercial autonomy. It should be noted that in 1995 Guigal bought the famous Château d'Ampuis, a historic landmark in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, which became its head office. The 60-hectare vineyard of Maison Guigal produces great red, white and rosé wines from the Rhône Valley. Guigal wines are made from grape varieties such as Syrah, Viognier, old Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Clairette, Marsanne, Roussane or Bourboulenc.
