My 5 month pregnant self hand tilled 2 feet down into the garden and turned the soil over (first time since winter) today. Getting ready for the #tomatoes to go in. Building a new trellis system this year. No more bamboo stick BS.
Happiest moment was finding endless amounts of worms and showing then to Elara for the first time. She was so gentle with them and put some in her bean tipi garden . Free compost from the town tomorrow so that's what we're doing since it'll be raining all day. We'll mix it in and turn over again a couple more times before we plant. Cucumbers will go along the fence and climb up - those that thrived last year loved it so here's hoping.
Last week Elara and I painted the fence - we felt it needed some more colour. Couple more blue posts to go.
Beans are rising - #peonies are thriving! It's a glorious year. 3 years ago I transplanted a few from the side of the house and bought 2. They barely lived past Spring because some didn't enjoy being moved and others were constantly being trampled on and slept on by Charlie. This year they are strong and healthy. Really enjoying watching them grow. Planted #spinach in front of them and around just so I can use up the remainder of this #gardenbed. Elara will have a blast picking the leaves.
