Hivemind. Some say it is the bane of sentient life. Others say the epitome. Regardless, the spread of Hivemind to infected worlds is swift, with many against the vast changes to the environment and culture. Infection brings depersonalization and complete loss of control to the vastly intelligent fungus of those affected.
The environment, as well, goes through enormous changes, with large fungus forests overtaking and merging with uninfected forests and plains.
Hivemind has various fungal forms. Some are merely edible, sometimes imparting a passing glimpse of the archetypes and higher functions of Hivemind Prime. Others create spore clouds almost constantly, which, when absorbed by any mucus membranes, form the fungus that grows through the membranes, taking over the brain of those affected. Others, still, absorb so much water in its environment growing as large, and sometimes larger, than trees. Some say that some of the fungi are portions of Hivemind Prime, which is the center of the organism’s hivemind, as it were. Common Hivemind creatures are Spore Harvesters, which are hulking creatures, ambling about spreading clouds of spores; and Hivemind Cycelids, large mantid-like creatures that are swift and deadly. Oftentimes, upon death, most Hivemind creatures explode or spew corrosive blood.
The fungus can infect most creatures, bending their bodies and minds to its will. It is not yet apparent what Hivemind’s prime directive is outside of expansion and control of most, if not all, of life’s creatures.

When Hivemind takes over a host, the host does not quite lose their mind. Instead, most of the host's normal mental faculties still occur, but rather, at times they lose control of their motor functions, controlled absolutely by the fungus, or are led to believe they have free will through various amnesiac memory lapses. Their thought processes are joined with the great intelligence bestowed by the fungus. The key to not having the host los

Node Cetraceps Hivemind

Hivemind can create a special spore which grows into a fungus called the Node Cetraceps, known for its strong electrical currents. These particular fungi are used to interface with certain models of the MEMs (Modular Experiential Mannequin) for use as special agents and emissaries from the organism. Hivemind has many ways of symbiosis and this particular symbiosis grants the super organism security where the Fountain has traveled. Usually.
